Network to improve and professionalize work placements
The main objective of the two regions in the context of this project is the establishment of a sustainable pattern of quality in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of work placements for vocational training students abroad. This objective, which arises as a measure to promote the transnational mobility, also responds to the action lines drawn in the Strategic Framework for European cooperation in the field of education and training (ET 2020).
This Comenius Regio Partnership will contribute to achieve the strategic objectives defined in ‘ET 2020’ as follows:
1. To make lifelong learning and mobility a reality:
This partnership promotes as a priority the mobility of students and teachers, taking into account the principles established in the European Quality Charter for Mobility.
2. To improve the quality and effectiveness of education and training:
The very title of our Association includes the notion of schemes to improve existing practices.
3. To promote equity, social cohesion and active citizenship:
By fostering placements abroad there will be a greater development in the key skills of our students and thereby their possibilities for employability and personal development will increase substantially.
4. To enhance creativity and innovation, including entrepreneurship at all levels of education and training:
With the inclusion of municipal and business organizations, the learning community expands and enriches, which can improve the balance between professional and social needs. The development of a partnership involving schools, along with other training institutions, authorities and companies provides a basis for the operation of a triangle of knowledge.
Therefore, this collaboration between the two regions, and also between the partners involved at local level, is based upon the common commitment to improve the professional, language and intercultural skills of our young people in order to broaden their employment opportunities in the labor market, at local, regional or international levels and, thus, improve their chances for future development. Transnational mobility also enriches the European dimension in education and training systems, being recognized and valued the benefits of these actions by companies to ensure future competitiveness and cohesion in the European Union.
Specifically, in the first year the partners will produce a guide for prospective trainees, which describes the respective economic regions of the partners, business structures and education and training systems. The partners will also develop an intercultural module that will prepare trainees to participate in exchange programs.
In the second year of the project, partners will take concrete decisions at conferences and workshops to ensure the installation of a permanent network of collaboration between schools and companies. In addition, strategies will be developed to establish an agency which will be responsible for organizing placements in collaboration with the schools in each region.
